Home Battery Backup Systems
Compare home battery backup systems for essential circuits or larger household loads. Choose a Growatt inverter-and-battery package, a hybrid solar kit with panels, or a compatible backup transfer box. Package contents vary by listing; backup power and runtime depend on the selected inverter, battery and installation.

Choose the right backup package
| Package | Inverter output | Battery options | Solar panels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growatt Partial Home Backup | 3.8kW or 6kW | 5kWh or 10kWh APX nominal storage | Sold separately |
| Growatt SPH 10kW + ALP | 10kW | 2, 4 or 6 ALP modules, by selected option | Sold separately |
| Growatt 11.4kW Whole Home Backup | 11.4kW | 10kWh or 20kWh APX nominal storage | Sold separately |
| Hybrid solar kits with batteries | 6kW, 10kW, 20kW or 30kW | Varies by kit and selected battery option | Included: 7.2kW to 36.86kW arrays |
The partial-home and 11.4kW packages include an automatic transfer switch and smart meter. The SPH + ALP package requires its backup panel, transfer equipment and metering to be specified for the installation. Battery energy in kWh and inverter power in kW are different ratings; usable battery energy is lower than nominal storage.
Backup transfer equipment
The Growatt SYN 200-XH-US backup box is a separate accessory with a 200A grid-side circuit breaker and smart meter. Its listing specifies compatible MIN XH-US partial-home backup configurations. It does not include an inverter, battery or solar panels.
Size backup around your loads
Choose the circuits you want to keep running and account for both running power and starting surges. A partial-home design supplies selected essential circuits; a whole-home connection still has inverter and battery output limits and may need load management.
Estimate runtime from usable battery energy and the average load. Solar production, battery limits and inverter losses affect the result. Send us your loads and existing equipment for package selection and installation planning.
