Pumps For Livestock
Solar pumps for watering livestock: submersible pumps for a well and transfer pumps for a pond, creek or dugout, from 0.4 HP to 4 HP, as bare pumps or as kits with panels and controller. The pump runs when the sun is up and fills a stock tank or trough, which then carries the herd overnight, so most ranch installs need no battery at all.

Size by two numbers: the depth (or lift) the water comes up, and the gallons per day the animals drink. Every listing gives the pump's head and flow figures so you can check both before buying; a storage tank sized for two or three days of demand covers cloudy weather far more cheaply than batteries.
The hybrid AC/DC models can also run from a generator or the grid; choose one only if you need that backup. Give the finder your well and your head count and it will pick the pump. Figures and sizing tables are for reference; a licensed electrician should make the connections.
